Account & settings overview

How to update your profile, connect GitHub, manage notifications, export data, and sign out.

Last updated 2026-07-30

Your Account page is the control center for your profile, subscription, and learning preferences.

What you can manage

  • Profile: update your display name.
  • GitHub connection: connect your GitHub account with OAuth so portfolio projects can be published directly. You can also enter a username manually if OAuth is unavailable.
  • Plan: see your current tier, start an upgrade, or manage billing.
  • Theme: toggle light or dark mode.
  • Notifications: choose which emails you receive and whether you are notified about community replies.
  • Learning preferences: your onboarding goal and experience level, which influence your recommended starting point.

Changing paths

Free users can focus on one path at a time. To switch, start a lesson in the new path from the Dashboard or go through onboarding again. Your progress on the previous path is saved. Pro and Teams users can access all paths at the same time.

Data and privacy

  • Export account data: download a JSON copy of your profile, progress, submissions, and published repos.
  • Reset all data: clear locally stored onboarding, profile, and notification preferences. Your lesson progress is not affected.

Sign out

Click the user menu in the header and select Sign out. Your progress is saved on the server if you are signed in.
