Practice is where learning turns into skill. NextDeveloper gives you several types of practice, each with a different level of support.
Exercises vs. challenges
- Exercises are short and focused. They usually test one idea and give you clear instructions.
- Challenges are larger and less scaffolded. They ask you to combine ideas and figure out more of the solution yourself.
Instant feedback
Every practice problem has automated tests. When you press Run, the platform checks your code against the tests and tells you:
- which tests passed,
- which tests failed,
- a hint about what to fix.
Using hints
The Hint button reveals a targeted clue. It is there to keep you moving, not to give away the answer. Try to solve the problem with one hint before asking in the forum.
Retrying
You can submit as many times as you like. Each attempt updates the Developer Growth Map, which tracks your understanding over time.
