Top questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often, including switching paths, forum posting, cancellation, and getting help.

Last updated 2026-07-30

Do I need prior experience?

No. The beginner paths start from first principles. If you have experience, you can skip ahead.

What is included in the free plan?

The free plan gives you one career path and the first 10 lessons, plus the interactive editor. You can use it indefinitely without a credit card.

Can I switch paths?

Yes. Pro and Teams users can access all paths. Free users can focus on one path at a time. To switch, start a lesson in the new path from the Dashboard or go through onboarding again. Your progress on the previous path is saved.

Why can't I post in the forum?

Posting in the Community Forum requires Pro or Teams. Free users can read all posts and replies.

Are the certificates recognized by employers?

Certificates verify that you completed a structured curriculum. Employers care most about your portfolio projects, which the certificates contextualize.

How long does a path take?

It depends on the path and your schedule. Most paths are 25–45 hours of focused work. At 5–10 hours per week, expect 6–12 weeks.

What happens if I cancel?

Your progress is saved. You keep access to the free tier content and can upgrade again at any time.

How do I get help?

Post in the Community Forum, read the Troubleshooting guide, or email hello@nextdeveloper.com.
