• Account information: name, email address, and authentication details managed through Supabase Auth.
• Learning data: lesson progress, code submissions, quiz responses, growth-map events, certificates, and skill assessments.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and device/browser information collected via Vercel Analytics.
• Payment information: billing details and subscription status processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers.
• Communications: support requests, feedback, and email correspondence.
• Optional data: GitHub username and public repository information if you connect your GitHub account for portfolio publishing.

• Provide, personalize, and improve the learning experience.
• Process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.

5. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process personal data on the basis of contract performance (providing the Services), legitimate interests (security and service improvement), consent (optional features such as GitHub integration and push notifications), and legal obligations.

6. Data sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers that perform functions on our behalf, including:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and row-level security.
• Stripe — payment processing and billing management.
• Vercel — hosting, analytics, and edge functions.
• GitHub — only when you choose to publish portfolio projects.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NextDeveloper, our users, or others.

7. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the Account settings. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period and for legal or security purposes.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS), row-level security in our database, and access controls. No system is completely secure; you are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, or port your personal data. You may also object to processing or withdraw consent where applicable.

We use Vercel Analytics for aggregated, privacy-preserving usage metrics and essential session/auth cookies required for the Services to function. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Your data is stored and processed in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your information in the United States.

12. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.
